Pen and Ink---old school version

Developing the style of quick, wispy strokes that barely touch the page, then off again has now become my mainstay in ink art. That's how the lions' manes look the way they do. They've been called tree roots, worms; whatever. They just build up, layer upon layer. And those occasional oops blots, well, they can become shadows or other parts of the design, so that you might just have a difficult time telling they were ever anything other than a part of the original plan.
Pen & Ink seems to ooze from somewhere deep inside of my artist's psyche. I love it. While others look and say, "It's too slow." "I could never be patient enough to work all of those details and layers." I just smile and know that it's all a part of the process, the creating, the adventure of where the ink takes you and what eventually emerges from the blankness of the page.
