Art will hang there until September, then be auctioned off with proceeds split between CBMP and artists. |

April 2026, Clemmons, NC
Clemmons Community Mural project Site location: Jerry Long Family YMCA pavilion building. Mural sizes: 8'x10' each This project was funded by an art grant from Shallow Ford Foundation, hosted by Associated Artists of Winston-Salem, and project managed by Sandra Kimzey Wimbish. A community arts programming project, murals were painted on two sides of the building. Walls were prepped for 2 separate community paint sessions. Over 130 people---young to adult---helped paint these murals. Final layering and nuances were added by AAWS members. |

"Birds on a Wire" depicts five common southeast Kansas birds perched on a barbed wire fence with a background of rolling green hills dotted with cattle and a windmill.
Created in conjunction with the Summer Arts Program,
I worked with 3rd through 6th grade students several days, teaching art concepts and involving them in the mural creation. Adult volunteers also helped bring this mural to completion over six days.

This bright and large mural now graces the side of City Hall and welcomes visitors and residents alike to this town.
Created in conjunction with the Summer Arts Program,
I worked with 3rd through 6th grade students several days, teaching art concepts and involving them in the mural creation.
Additionally, several local residents volunteered their time over the 9 days of mural creation.

Sassafras Playground, Laurel Hills Park
Sponsored by an art grant from the Awesome Foundation
This is a tile mosaic/mural combination located on three surfaces of a concrete support structure as you enter the children's area. Because this park focuses on naturalized pollinator planting beds, and also teaches children about the importance of pollinators--especially monarch butterflies--the design featured 1) life cycle of monarch butterflies on one side, 2) bees and cone flowers on the other side (both murals), and 3) a mosaic/mural combination of flowers and pollinators.
